Full-Time Flow-Field Engineer – 200003NC

Job Description

We are looking for a talented Flow Field Engineer to join our team specializing in hydrogen fuel cell power systems technology for our #NewPower Business Unit in Mississauga, Ontario.

 

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

* Responsible for mechanical design of next generation electrolyser bipolar plates.

* Lead the flow-field design while leveraging input from a cross-functional engineering team of mechanical designers, scientists, and engineers to design, outsource, test, and to improve functionality of flow-field plates and their interaction with other stack components.

* Analyze technical function requirements of stack and system and translate those requirements into a plate design and development plan.

* Responsible for design calculations of fluid thermodynamic properties including flow rate, temperature and pressure,.

* Responsible for design of detailed channel geometries including incorporating the results from CFD and FEA into the plate design process.

* Design for cost-effective manufacturing techniques (machining, molding, forming, etc.) in preparation for prototyping and high-volume manufacturing.

* Communicate with external suppliers and vendors regarding parts design and participate in cost-reduction efforts with those suppliers.

 

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

* Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline.

* Minimum three to five years in a mechanical design role for two phase flow products.

* Strong understanding of manufacturing process.

* Experience in fluid flow dynamics, heat management, heat exchanger industry, fuel cell industry, electrolyzers.

* Prior experience in a global matrix organization in a manufacturing environment highly preferred.
