Full-Time Education Specialist

Job Description

Job Summary

Plan, organize, manage and promote professional development programs to assist in the development of bankers’ careers, ensure leadership has awareness of current trends and organizations stay aligned with industry regulations.  Foster an environment of collaboration and education for OBL staff, industry experts and bankers. Strategically manage the Ohio Bankers League social media efforts.

 

Essential Functions

  • Educational program management (30%) – Work with internal and external partners to coordinate direct and indirect offerings. Manage off-site and on-site event logistics.  Prioritize multiple projects and programs.   Leverage database and available technology to manage, promote and run program components.

 

  • Program promotion (25%) – Leveraging effective data analysis, identify ideal program participants and develop a strategy for increasing participation numbers to meet or exceed budgeted projections. Create program brochures and marketing materials including promotions for weekly and quarterly OBL communications.

 

  • Social media management – (20%) – Develop and execute an OBL social media strategy. Create social media content for educational programming. Coordinate social media content for all other OBL departments. Regularly post on and monitor social media outlets as outlined in the social media strategy.

 

  • Provide member bank support (10%) – Through emails, phone calls or in-person meetings, aid member bank employees and leadership with questions regarding scheduled programing. Assist with event registration, participant issues and billing.

 

  • Project Support (10%) – Support and manage assigned OBL projects and complete project tasks as needed.

 

  • Budget management (5%) – Strategically plan initiatives to meet budget income and expense targets. Track and manage event income and expenses.

 

  • All other necessary duties as assigned

 

 

Financial Responsibility

$250,000 to $500,000 in professional development programming

 

Experience

  • Required
    • Two to three years of social media usage (actively posting three to five times per week)
    • One to three years of project management
    • One to three years of internal or external sales
  • Preferred
    • One to three years of banking experience
    • One to three years training or educational program development

 

Skills

  • Basic facilitation, research, analysis, budget development, emotional intelligence and sales skills
  • Intermediate time management, decision making, project management, graphic design, communication, Microsoft Office, online posting, video creation and collaboration skills
  • Advanced multi-tasking and prioritization skills

 

Education

Associate or bachelor’s degree

 

FLSA Status

Full-time, exempt

 

Conditions

  • May need to lift, push or pull furniture or equipment up to 20lbs 10-15% of the time
  • Spends 50% – 75% of time standing or sitting
  • May spend up to 15% of time traveling
