Ball State University and Indiana Academy welcome applications for an Executive Director of the Indiana Academy.
The Indiana Academy serves approximately 250 juniors and seniors who are gifted and talented from across the state of Indiana and through its international program. The Indiana Academy’s major purpose is to provide educational opportunities appropriate to the ability and development of its students. It is a primarily residential high school with several local non-residential students. Through various outreach programs, the Indiana Academy strives to stimulate and enable vitality in educational programs for students who are academically gifted. The Academy is committed to creating innovative programs and practices that attract, retain, and nurture a diverse Academy community.
The successful applicant will shape and implement the Academy’s mission and vision of academic success and inclusive excellence for gifted and talented students; provide leadership for the operation of academic and student affairs; manage the budget; develop and evaluate all Academy programs for continuous improvement; comply with pertinent federal, state, and local laws and administrative rules, policies and regulations of the university; communicate with the diverse stakeholders of the Indiana Academy.
Minimum Qualifications: Doctorate in science, mathematics, humanities, or education from an accredited college or university. Three years of experience as an education administrator or equivalent. Demonstrated ability to collaborate and communicate effectively.
Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications: Formal coursework or certificate in gifted education and/or adolescent development. Administrative experience in a residential school; experience with gifted education program or administration; successful fundraising.
