Full-Time Social Worker
Job Description
This position exists to provide clinical services to youth in the facility that experience mental health related problems. In addition, this position is experienced in addressing criminogenic risk factors in the adolescentin adolescent population as well as family interventions. This position will understand criminal conduct in adolescents and be able to treat the youth from the perspective of lowering the criminogenic risks the youth presents with and addressing the relationship between mental health issues and criminal conduct. These youth often have behavioral and psychiatric problems resulting from trauma- related issues such as neglect, abuse, or severe family problems. This position completes an integrated and comprehensive strength-based treatment plan in the area addressing the highest risk of clinical needs. This position is also responsible for and providing expertise to staff in the area in integration of addiction issues, legal, mental health, behavioral, and family issues. This position is responsible for the development and implementation of discharge and parole reports and is required to liaison with DYS client managers, facility staff, residents and their families, and community programs. The position is also a key member in the clinical team at the facility and acts to assist in development and improvement of DYS Treatment Model, policy development, and licensing compliance concerns.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current, valid or recently expired licensure as a Professional Counseling (LPC) as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
- One year of experience as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Licensed Professional Counselor.
- Current, valid or recently expired licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)\ will substitute for the Professional Counseling license (LPC) or the Clinical Social Worker license (LCSW).
- One year of experience as a licensed marriage and family therapist will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
