Job Description: POSITION SUMMARY:
The Instructional Designer (ID) is responsible for partnering with content Subject-Matter Experts, project team members, and other content developers to design and develop innovative and engaging learning experiences that will help to “raise the bar” across Product Development organization. The ideal candidate has a deep passion for helping individuals learn and grow and is highly skilled in designing and developing engaging learning experiences that not only engages and delights learner, but also enables people to measurably attain organizational goals and objectives and contribute to our company vision of transforming patient lives through science.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Serve as our resident Instructional Design expert and the team “ISD virtuoso,” able to handle any and all learning & development challenges.
• Perform training needs analyses, rapid prototyping/testing proof of concepts, developing maintenance plans, and developing continuous improvement processes based on post-assessment feedback.
• Provide instructional design guidance to our team, subject matter experts, and the PD organization during design, development, and pilot phases of projects.
• Develop design documents, storyboards, audio scripts, graphic images, communications, and other supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations, role-plays, games, etc.).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative, engaging, and effective learning solutions to support various PD learning programs that educate and delight learners.
• Review and evaluate existing training programs to make recommendations for streamlining and raising the overall quality of the content and learner experience.
• Continuously analyze participation and performance data to optimize the learner experience and ensure they receive the right training, for the right job, at the right time, in the right amount.
• Apply knowledge of blended learning and state-of-the-art learning technologies to develop training curriculum and materials that set the benchmark for PD and other learning groups.
• Support training plans and create and support system maintenance plans as required.
• Apply “fit-for-purpose” blended learning and state-of-the-art learning technologies such as microlearning, simulations, and virtual environments in the development of training curricula and materials.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously with a sense of urgency and create and manage tactical project plans and manage to tight timelines.
• Work with our communications lead to effectively market and promote our team as a trusted business partner.
• Provide recommendations in the selection of tools, technologies, and resources that help solve business problems and stays current on the state-of-the-art in training and development.
• Write course descriptions for PD’s SharePoint site and technology platforms in partnership with subject matter experts and marketing.
• Participate in special projects as assigned.
ID may also be asked to perform the following activities as required:
• Partner with PD Functional Areas to develop and deploy role-based “right-sized” curricula as necessary to support the capability learning needs of PD functional areas.
• Assist with the authoring of PD-level training-related procedural documents.
• Assist the PD power-user for the electronic Learning Management System (i.e., SuccessFactors) and evaluation tools (i.e., Pedagogue or Quizmaker).
• Analyze training data to provide crisp and accurate assessment reports as required for training compliance using a variety of tools and formats.
• Support the PD knowledge expert for electronic procedural document management systems (e.g., PDHQ).
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
• BS or MA degree in instructional design, educational technology, or similar.
• Minimum 5 years of instructional design experience (analysis, storyboarding, etc.) or equivalent ID experience obtained within the bachelor program.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively use a wide variety of development tools is required. Includes Articulate Presenter, Quizmaker, Engage, Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia, and the Adobe Creative Suite at a minimum.
• Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, and audio/video scripts are required.
• Demonstrates knowledge of adult learning, knowledge of instructional design, and familiar with Instructional System, Design models.
• Knowledge in the use of Microsoft Office suite that includes in PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Visio, and Project is required.
• Solid knowledge of at least one Learning Management System is required (SAP SuccessFactors preferred).
• Experience in the delivery of learning through various modalities is required (Instructor-Led (classroom), virtual classroom, eLearning, Social/Mobile Learning, micro-learning) is required.
• Project Management skills are required.
• Experience in a fast-paced technology inspired culture with the ability to work in a dynamic environment, consistently and with agility is required.
DESIRED EXPERIENCE
• Strong Articulate Storyline programming skills including functions and variables (able to get under the hood of the application) is highly desired.
• Skilled in the development of media such as graphics, audio, and video assets.
• Lesson and curriculum planning skills are highly desired.
• Experience with SharePoint and MS Teams is highly desired.
• Knowledge of the life sciences industry, the drug development process, expertise in GMP, compliance, and regulatory requirements is highly desired.
Ideal candidate will be local to New Brunswick NJ, but will consider candidates that are not local to work remote.
