Job Summary

Redstart Creative is seeking an experienced web developer to help us expand our website service offerings. The position is remote, but local candidates are preferred, and candidates must be based in the United States. We currently develop WordPress websites using Beaver Builder and custom WordPress sites from scratch. Now we are looking for a web developer who has experience creating sites using platforms such as Drupal and Kentico. Our goal is to be able to pursue contracts with government and large business websites.

Responsibilities

  • Develop WordPress sites using Beaver Builder as well as custom sites from scratch; create sites from flexible CMS platforms such as Drupal and Kentico
  • Implement and update applications and front-end programming technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, SaSS, JavaScript and JQuery, combining design and programming to meet functional and security standards
  • Implement back-end PHP technologies, as well as troubleshoot and document PHP-related issues, with an eye on meeting the client’s needs
  • Collaborate with internal team to apply expertise to various technical problems, assist with proposals, and gather requirements and functional specifications for projects
  • Mentor and share knowledge with staff as the internal expert on all things web development; provide insights that will encourage creative and innovative approaches to website services
  • Communicate on a regular basis with stakeholders and management on matters such as approval of wireframe and functional specifications and provide clear and helpful feedback to internal team
  • This role may be asked to perform other duties as required by business needs

Qualifications (Must Have)

  • At least 5 years of web development experience, including site building, coding, and writing scripts
  • Ability to create sites from WordPress, as well as coding custom functions to be integrated with existing WordPress websites; experience using Beaver Builder is a plus
  • Strong content management skills, including the ability to create sites from flexible CMS platforms such as Drupal, Kentico
  • Good understanding of front-end technologies, including HTML5, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, SaSS, JavaScript, and jQuery, with the ability to work independently as well as collaborate with a team
  • Strong understanding of back-end development using PHP, including writing scripts and coding to create or modify software and applications to suit a client’s needs
  • Experience designing and developing responsive design websites optimized for smartphones and tablets using a mobile-first approach
  • Experience working with Google Analytics to track conversions, traffic, and other metrics and Google Tag Manager to manage measurement and marketing optimization tags
  • Ability to convert comprehensive layout and wireframes into working HTML pages that meet user needs and goals•Excellent communication skills, such as clarity, concision, confidence, and the ability to listen with open-mindedness and respect
  • Ability to collaborate with others through communication, clear goal-setting, active listening, brainstorming, and problem-solving
  • Good project management skills, including leadership, critical thinking, cost management, risk management, and scheduling

Qualifications (Preferred)

  • Knowledge of Salesforce as a tool for connecting with customers and gaining insight through analytics, with the goal of marketing to clients and tracking client activity
  • Design background, with experience in creating and designing the layout of new or existing websites or pages with text, sounds, graphics and videos
  • Municipal government web design and development experience using Drupal and other CMS platforms; experience developing websites that facilitate accessibility and public sector engagement through web kiosks, digital assistants and other interactive applications
