About The Role:
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will develop and maintain our product and services that enable millions of users navigate to the next step in their healthcare journey. Your contributions will have a direct impact on our team’s and Grand Rounds’ mission.
You’ll have ample opportunity to independently lead up projects that have high impact for our members. You will also be expected to be a key participant and driver of technical debates regarding new technologies, service architecture, and high-leverage ways to reduce and maintain tech debt, as well as executing on those efforts.
You’ll get to lead cross-team efforts, mentor your team members, and establish engineering best practices.
You’ll be great for this role if you love delivering delightful experiences for users, celebrate end-to-end ownership, and enjoy collaborating with your colleagues in engineering, product, design, and data science. You’ll also be a great fit if you enjoy fullstack development, but tend to get more excited about the backend, service architecture design, and domain-driven data modeling.

What You’ll Do:

    • Build out our navigation experiences across the frontend experience and backend services
    • Help us evolve and improve the architecture, performance, and operability of our systems
    • Drive features and products through the full development lifecycle
    • Collaborate with tight-knit teams – teach us what you know and learn from us
    • Build systems which support privacy and security for sensitive personal and medical data
    • Mentor other engineers on a variety of topics: engineering standard methodologies (coding, frameworks, architecture, CI/CD), project management (task planning), and career growth

Your Qualifications:

    • Proven full-stack development and leadership experience
    • Analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
    • Experience with (and fondness for) automated testing
    • Hands-on experience with back-end development
    • Familiarity with modern frontend frameworks
    • Experience creating and maintaining APIs (REST, GraphQL, etc.)
    • Modeling real-world data in both RDBMS and NoSQL persistence layers
    • Experience in our current technologies is a bonus: Go, Javascript, React, Rails, GraphQL, Docker, AWS
    • 5+ years of consumer-facing engineering experience
