We are looking for a talented SOFC System Reliability Engineering – Technical Specialist to join our team specializing in Corporate Strategy for our Component Business Segment in Malta, NY.
Your impact will happen in these and other ways:
• This product risk focused position manages critical reliability activities within new product development in order to meet customer and business reliability expectations. People in this position execute and/or facilitate activities needed to prevent and detect failures and improve reliability.
• Obtains input and negotiates with new product technical and core teams and delivers plans to meet critical reliability deliverables to new product development leadership.
• Makes decisions in the areas of product problem prevention, detection and correction that impact overall new product reliability.
• Applies and improves processes such as quantitative reliability analysis and failure reporting and corrective action systems and tools required to support the processes and enable high quality decision making.
• Delivers independent execution of established and emerging work processes and systems, while still developing technology or product knowledge.
• Leads the development and improvement of work processes and systems across a functional discipline area within a business unit site.Provides support and guidance to influence technical direction within a project team and continues to develop proficiency in the competency areas critical to success in the role.
Education, Licenses, Certifications
University, or equivalent bachelor’s degree in Engineering or other relevant technical disciplines is required. Post-graduate (Master’s) degree relevant to this discipline area may be required for select roles. This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience
Prior Senior or Lead Engineer equivalent work experience (4 plus years) in a relevant discipline area is required with a demonstrated track record of technical problem solving and quality decision making. Knowledge of MS Office tools are preferred.
• This role requires hands-on experiences in product development processes including DVP&R, FMEA and program management tools.
• Ability to work cross functionally in managing product validation, problem solving and driving issue solutions.
• Expectation to have a basic understanding of how a SOFC operates and what key subsystems and components a SOFC system is composed of. Relevant work experiences on SOFC are a plus but not required.
• Ability to work well with a cross-functional team in a dynamic environment and can work independently with minimal coaching. As the team is located in multiple locations, there is an expectation to work with team members that are in a different location and in different time zones.
Compensation and Benefits
Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
