Part-Time Youth Services Program Specialist

Job Description

AACI is looking for a Program Specialist to work with our youth team!  The Program Specialist assists with planning, implementation and evaluation of youth programs and activities in areas including art, technology, substance use education, & multi-media projects, and leadership development.

About the Job:

  • Develop and implement health education workshops including substance abuse prevention
  • Engage youth in skill building, substance abuse awareness, healthy lifestyles, and campaign project development.
  • Plan and implement alternative activities including arts, crafts, and technology classes (digital arts) in a safe and welcoming environment.
  • Provide mentorship while implementing and facilitating workshops
  • Conduct outreach and recruitment for prospective program participants.
  • Maintain positive working partnerships with school staff and faculty; work with community partners to complete youth campaign projects as needed.

The ideal candidate:

  • Bachelor level degree in Health Science, Child Development, Psychology, Social Work related field; OR Currently enrolled in the 2nd year in an accredited university or college in sociology, psychology, human services or related field; OR two years of full time program administration experience in the areas of community building, social and/or human services.
  • Knowledge of and experience with professional/technical principles and practices including substance use education; health resources, prevention, alcohol and other drugs related issues.
  • Experience in alternative programming including arts, media and technology (digital arts and social media) activities.
