Full-Time Senior Analyst – Policy Analysis, Program Evaluation, and Technical Assistance

Job Description

Mission Analytics Group, Inc. (Mission) is a non-advocacy government consulting firm based in San Francisco that conducts program evaluation, analysis, and technical assistance (TA) in health and human services. Our mission is to help vulnerable individuals live safe, healthy, meaningful lives in their communities. We seek a smart, highly motivated, highly adaptable employee to join our 20-person company.

This position will focus mainly on Mission’s growing portfolio of work in HIV/AIDS, particularly in research, evaluation, and TA related to the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program (RWHAP). Additional areas for work include long-term care, developmental disabilities, Medicaid/Medicare policy, and child/youth and family services. The employee will work with an established team of researchers and analysts.

Example responsibilities include:

  • Qualitative research, including site visits, focus groups, and interviews
  • Web-based research on public programs and policy
  • Literature reviews
  • Technical assistance to programs serving individuals with HIV/AIDS or disabilities or those serving low-income families
  • Development of reports with quantitative and qualitative findings
  • Proposal writing
  • Other activities as needed

The mix of activities will be tailored to the skillset of the successful candidates.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or substantial coursework in public health, public policy, social work, public administration, or related subjects (or Bachelor’s degree and at least three years’ prior work experience in relevant settings)
  • Familiarity with the RWHAP and/or serving people with HIV, with experience in innovative models of care highly desired
  • At least two years’ prior work experience
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
  • Experience with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with strategies to rapidly prescribe antiretroviral therapy (ART) to people newly diagnosed with HIV, or recently re-engaged in HIV care
  • Familiarity with services for individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities
  • Familiarity with Medicaid and other sources of public funding for health-related services
  • Familiarity with logic models and theories of change
  • Experience in program evaluation and policy research
  • Experience responding to requests for proposals (RFPs) from government agencies

This is a full-time position with benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance and company 401k contributions. Salary commensurate with experience. Due to the ongoing pandemic, this position will begin as fully remote. However, we have a strong preference for individuals able to work out of our San Francisco office once it reopens. Ongoing remote work may be considered for outstanding candidates.
