JOB FAMILY DESCRIPTION
Responsible for design, development, documentation, debugging, and support of the user interface to optimize an engaging user experience for Black Knight applications.

GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
* Facilitate Design Thinking discovery sessions
* Collaborate with other teams to gather requirements, create visualization concepts, high-fidelity mockups, and prototypes for clients.
* Develop front-end user interfaces for Web-based or other software products, including mobile and web console devices.
* Collaborate with back-end development, visual design, product management, and customers.
* Develops process flows, wireframes, and prototypes to effectively conceptualize and communicate high-level design strategies.
* Study how users feel about a system, evaluate perceptions of: ease of use, value of the system, utility, efficiency in performing tasks, etc.
* May assist with new user interface testing and participate in usability reviews.
* Translate user needs and business requirements into features and functionality for web/mobile experiences.
* Performs other duties as required.

EDUCATIONAL GUIDELINES
Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience.

GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
* Knowledge of relevant standards and best practices for design of modern, data-rich, and responsive applications
* Demonstrated skill of taking in complex data and designing UI/UX innovative data visualization to drive deeper insights
* Demonstrated understanding of the user experience, including user-centered design techniques and usability testing
* Demonstrated experience applying design thinking principles and methodologies to product design
* Experience designing well-adopted software products
* Expertise in visual design or prototyping software like Sketch, Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe XD, Figma
* Proficient in VS Code, JavaScript, XML, HTML, and CSS
* Experience with at least one of the following frameworks: Angular, React, or Vue.js a plus
* End-to-end web application development experience preferred
* Remain current on user interface trends and programming techniques and suggest new tools and methods as necessary
* Ability to support multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines

UI/UX Designer II
Intermediate professional role. Moderate skills with high level of proficiency. Problems faced are increasingly more complex. Works independently to design, architect and quickly complete projects with minimal supervision and direction with increased latitude for independent judgement. May influence others within the job area through explanation of facts, policies and practices. May assist with new user interface testing and participate in usability reviews. May be responsible for usability research and design in the absence of dedicated usability team members. Conducts tasks and assignments as directed. May coach more junior technical staff. Typically requires four (4) or more years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of experience and education.
