Role: Data Services & Delivery – Queries and Investigations Sr. Analyst
The Data Services & Delivery – Queries and Investigations Sr. Analyst, AVP will be part of Finance and Risk Shared Services (FRSS) – Data Services and Delivery organization.
This role will be responsible for performing high-level queries and investigations activities and provide support to post-mortem and projects. This will include reviewing queue of queries requested by users on critical incidents, error/problem investigation and issue troubleshooting. Given the nature of applications in production environment related to reporting systems, this position will also enable deep-dive reviews, process improvement activities and stabilization efforts related to any current process in scope of the area. The aim is to reduce impact to users and increase customer satisfaction by resolving issues in a quick turnaround time and proposing process improvement initiatives to mitigate risk and reduce system-related incidents related to all data consumers, implementations / decommissioning. This requires an intense partnership with other units, especially Technology, CDO, correlate areas.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Understand and support the troubleshooting of incidents for core accounting and financial applications used by Client’s Finance & Risk Shared Services structure
Conduct analytical investigation on queries and data related to users’ requests, and connect the dots to allow timely incident resolution.
Investigate, track and coordinate the resolution of financial reporting related issues, being able to explain the narrative behind the conclusions.
Articulate root cause of issues and escalate to managers and seniors to avoid recurrence of failures
Understand breaks and aging, and research reporting and ledger issues alike, being able to identify incorrect items distorting account balances requested by users.
Document properly all investigations performed and support data extraction with evidences if required
Support process improvement projects by understanding E2E Incident Management dataflow information and driving Partners to achieve agreed goals and stabilization of the current process / platforms
Engage and enable partners to resolve queries and incidents related to different accounting and reporting systems.
Interact with senior levels within Finance, CDO and Technology teams to review problems and identify permanent resolution of recurring items in a post-mortem fashion
Quick turnaround time in researching issues and providing feedback to users and seniors alike
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Banking, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
KEY COMPETENCIES
5+ years of experience in accounting and financial applications management with commensurate stakeholder management experience
Good command of Incident Management process, with focus on financial reporting systems
Good command of data flow for Regulatory reporting is preferred. Genesis or Finance Full Suite knowledge preferred.
Strong communication and diplomacy skills in order to guide and influence others.
Experience and demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a complex and dynamic environment
Self-motivated with the ability to make decisions in the absence of detailed instructions.
Advanced Microsoft Office skills (e.g. Excel, Power Point, Access, Power BI)
In depth knowledge of banking products / systems preferred.
Knowledge of Service Now utilization (understanding status, reports extraction, etc.) is preferred
New technologies savvy, especially related to process improvement and digitization, with focus on improving E2E Incident Management Process is a plus
Education:
Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience
