POSITION OVERVIEW
The Key Account Manager is tasked with achieving the company’s business plan across all brands with respect to his or her key accounts. They are responsible for managing the company’s key retailers in all facets of the business. The key duty is successfully planning and implementing an effective and efficient Go-To Market Strategy with the key retailers. The Key Account Manager is responsible for analysis, management, sales process optimization, category management, forecasting, training, sales program implementation and administration. They work with their direct supervisor to develop best in class programs for planning, reporting and quota achievement. The Key Account Manager implements overall business strategies to ensure that key retailer development aligns with BWX corporate objectives.
SUMMARY OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Represent the company’s brands to key retailers.
- Provide leadership to brokers (where applicable) with assigned retail customers and build effective growth recommendations focused on the customer’s needs and strategic priorities.
- Responsible for all aspects of the business including assortment, merchandising, pricing, shelving and promotional implementation.
- Maintain and develop relationships with retailers.
- Ensure all retail sales related programs, policies and procedures are implemented with customers.
- Maximize sales and profit for the company across all brands.
- Identify potential upsides and propose ideas to capitalize on opportunities.
- Assist the Director of Sales in negotiating contracts and agreements with retailers.
- Identify new business opportunities
Planning and Execution – Develop strategic and operational plans with Key Retailers, manage execution and measure results using financial metrics.
- Identify brand building opportunities within account mix along with associated cost and volume projections.
- Identify sales targets and opportunities and execute the sales plan tocompany standards.
- Coordinate account follow up between sales managers, brokers and retailers.
- Leverage available data to identify areas of opportunity.
- Perform annual market level business and performance reviews.
- Implement sales forecasting, planning and budgeting process used within organization.
- Direct and support the consistent implementation of company initiatives.
· Monitor and report on competitive activity monthly.
- Flawlessly execute company direction on new item launches and promotional plans.
- Manage expenses and travel costs within allocation guidelines.
- Develop effective Sales Presentations to present data with strategic recommendations, brand developments and review of new items.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have at least 2 Year’s experience in a Key Account Position or Similar
- Previous Sales Experience with Whole Foods is Preferred
- Must be detail oriented, and organized
- High Emphasis on Data Analytics and Reporting
- Must be agile and resilient
- Self-starter with lots of initiative and the ability to think creatively
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team & Virtually
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
- High level of accuracy
