Position Title: Youth and Community Project Coordinator
Who is West River Valley Thrives? West River Valley Thrives (WRVT) is a substance use/misuse education and prevention coalition serving the towns of Brookline, Jamaica, Marlboro, Wardsboro, Newfane, Townshend and Windham. It is our mission to support and promote healthy lifestyle choices with an emphasis on the prevention of alcohol, tobacco and other drug use by young people.
How will I make a difference? The Youth and Community Project Coordinator will make a difference in our community by… • Building strong relationships with local businesses, municipal leaders, health care organizations, social service agencies and other community groups through WRVT activities. • Growing a healthy community in collaboration with students, families and community members. • Coordinating Leland & Gray Middle and High School youth groups such as Above the Influence, youth leadership training programs, fundraisers, youthfocused outings and other activities that support the mission of WRVT. • Being a vital, enthusiastic and supportive member of the WRVT team and the prevention coalition partners we collaborate with. • Ensuring compliance with grant funded deliverables by tracking all the amazing activities we complete and assisting in reporting the results. • Conducting outreach and communication through traditional and electronic platforms such as Facebook, website updates and press releases.

Additional Information Applicants must have a valid driver’s license, a personal vehicle to use for work purposes and auto insurance.
Travel for employment activities will be reimbursed for applicable mileage.
How can I be considered for the position? You can be considered for this position if you meet the following qualifications: • Background in health education/prevention, community outreach or communication with a Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent amount of education, training, work-experience and lived experience • Experience working with youth, families, community members and/or key leaders in a volunteer, internship or paid position • Excellent written, verbal, computer and public speaking skills • Organized, detail oriented, able to follow through on multiple projects

Compensation: $20.00 per hour and comprehensive benefits.
Hours: 32-40 hours per week with occasional evening or weekend hours
