Position: Temporary Employability & Skills Co-ordinator
Reporting to: Employability & Skills Manager
Purpose:
This role will support the development and implementation of the Foundation’s Employability & Skills strategic objectives which aim to increase the aspirations of young people and their awareness & understanding of the pathways into further & higher education, training, apprenticeships or employment. The post holder will place significance in supporting the Employability & Skills Manager in developing internal and external partnerships which uphold, promote and innovate the strategic objectives.
Key Accountabilities
- Work with the Operations Director and the Employability & Skills Manager to develop, review and deliver an Employability & Skills strategic vision with operational aims, which satisfy the objectives of key partners and funders. These partnerships will be relevant to the continuous development of the Employability & Skills division within the Foundation.
- Strategically support the Employability & Skills Manager in developing and managing future and existing partnerships with external organisations in order to facilitate opportunities for the partner and programme participants. This will include, but not limited to, the Premier League, Manchester United FC, partner secondary & primary schools, further & higher education establishments, housing associations, statutory agencies, referral agencies and other recognised partners and funders.
- Influence colleagues & participants and support the creation and development of inclusive activities that will increasingly challenge and enhance skills, shape a positive attitude and foster a confident approach to meeting the objectives of each programme.
- Create a fun, structured, safe and enjoyable learning environment that is inspiring, dynamic, challenging and educational.
- Ensure that the Foundation’s code of conduct is upheld in all activities, delivery and physical appearance.
Person Specification:
- Demonstration of academic achievement in further education and/or higher education
- Strong functional skills in Mathematics and English
- A full and clean UK driving licence (or recognised equivalent)
- Empathy towards others
- Ability to enthuse and communicate with children, young people and hard to reach groups
- Self-driven individual who brings life and energy to their delivery
- The capability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders
- Report writing
- Ability to be a positive role model
- Excellent organisational skills
- Ability to adapt and diversify delivery in programmes/sessions
- Innovative and able to convert difficulties into successes
- Ability to work effectively as an individual and as a team member
- FA Level 1 in coaching football and relevant support qualifications – Desirable
