To meet our mission, we are seeking a Program Coordinator for Early Childhood Health Outdoors to join our staff, working out of the Rocky Mountain Regional Center in Denver, Colorado. 

The Early Childhood Health Outdoors (ECHO) program works to ensure young children have access to quality outdoor learning environments where play and learning support development across all domains – cognitive, physical, social and emotional. By improving outdoor spaces through thoughtful landscape design and training early childhood professionals on the benefits of nature play, ECHO improves access for children and their caregivers to have daily experiences in nature that contributes to their future success. To ensure ECHO continues its reach and impact, a program coordinator is needed to collaborate with ECHO’s education and design team to achieve the program’s overarching initiatives. The main focus of your role will be engaging early childhood professionals and providing administrative support of the program and projects.

In this role you will report to the ECHO Education and Outreach Manager to plan, organize, and implement training and professional development for early childhood professionals related to outdoor environments for young children to promote play, learning, and healthy development.  You will support communication with early childhood professionals to provide ongoing site support. The ideal candidate should feel comfortable providing overarching administrative program support and be willing to engage audiences through trainings and presentations.    

In this position, you will:

Coordinate training and professional development events in collaboration with ECHO team
Coordinate administrative processes to support demonstration sites, seed grants and family child care programs
Collaborate with the ECHO team to develop and/or implement structures and systems for reporting, storytelling, etc.
Contribute to data gathering, and evaluation tracking
Conduct site visits as needed and communicate with sites to conduct evaluation measures including surveys, site assessments, photographs, and interviews
Manage online certificate program registration in collaboration with NC State University and contribute to establishing clear communication processes
Support organization and coordination of additional ECHO events including volunteer work days, annual Summit, and regional symposia
Regularly communicate with early childhood professionals to provide technical assistance with event registration, invoicing, and general inquiries
Support and lead training for various audiences including early childhood professionals, families, etc. (mentoring provided by ECHO team)
Develop educational materials and resources as needed.
Qualities we’re looking for include:

Experience in education, project coordination, and/or administration
Strong organizational, time-management and multi-tasking skills
Microsoft Office proficiency. Adobe Creative Suite proficiency or willingness to learn.
Strong oral and written communication skills
Ability to use and navigate Dropbox folders and files
Strong work ethic and attention to detail
Ability to communicate effectively across disciplines
Proven ability to learn quickly
Excellent interpersonal skills in interacting with persons of various social, cultural, economic, political and educational backgrounds
Shares the values of the National Wildlife Federation: collaboration, mindfulness, empowerment, inclusivity, and mission focus
Experience working with/in project management, early childhood education, underserved communities or graphic design a plus.
Monthly travel (mostly day/evening trips) within the state of Colorado may be required. Occasional overnight trips may be required.

The salary range for this position is $45,000 annually.
