Part-Time Operations and Communication Manager
Job Description
Keep Rising to the Top (KR3T’S) is seeking an Operations and Communication Manager to join our team. Reporting to and working collaboratively with the Executive Director, Violeta Galagarza, this position will ideally begin January 1, 2026. This is a hybrid working position with some in-person hours expected. The position will begin as a part-time contracted position of 20 hours per week, at $30/hour. Upon the 3-month evaluation, the position may be increased in hours and/or pay. By June 1, 2026, the position may be eligible for FT and transition to employee status.
The Operations and Communication Manager will play a key leadership role in ensuring the success of KR3TS’ programs, rehearsals, events, and community initiatives. This position blends strong non-profit organizational management with creativity in marketing and communication. The individual will help expand KR3TS’ visibility, strengthen sponsor and community relationships, develop operational processes, and support our mission of empowering the next generation through dance and the arts. Under the guidance of our Executive Director, Operations Manager has the opportunity to bring their “managing is both art and science” perspective to support the daily operational life of KR3T’S while revolutionizing how our team functions and how we serve our dance community.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
We are a very hands on, collaborative team where we all pitch where and when we are needed. This is not an exhaustive list; it’s representative of the broad scope of responsibility you may encounter in this position.
Operations Management
- Assess and Develop KR3T’S Operational Systems to meet non-profit standards and programming needed
- Supporting on bookkeeping and financial tracking
- Manage invoices, sponsorship agreements, and vendor contracts
- Support in coordinating logistics for performances, festivals, and community workshops.
- Establish strong policies and processes for operations and administration
- Manage data collection and reporting for programs and organizational goals
Marketing and Communications:
- Develop marketing campaigns to promote KR3TS shows, festivals, and initiatives.
- Support in creating eblasts, social media posts, and promotional content
- Coordinating and creating social media posting via Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.
- Coordinating with photographers and videographers as needed
- Support on program communications as needed
- Support on individual donor campaigns as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
The ideal candidate will have:
3–5 years of experience in non-profit operations, marketing, communications, or related fields.
Strong self-starting organizational, project management, and multitasking skills.
Basic Skills with social media management tools and design platforms (Canva, Adobe).
Strong writing and communication skills (bilingual English/Spanish a plus).
a passion and excitement for dance, NYC and supporting underrepresented communities.
Located in NYC or willing to relocate and connected to the dance community
a desire to work on system solutions to support organizational growth
a demonstrated commitment to anti-oppression principles in all settings and an eagerness to engage in dialogue around such issues
experience with online platforms such as Google Drive, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Mailchimp. WordPress and Squarespace a plus
Strong research, writing, organizational, and administrative skills
Enthusiasm for creative, collaborative, and detail-oriented work

Interested candidates should complete the application by November 7th, 2025. First interviews will ideally take place after November 14, 2025. We will notify candidates to set interviews by November 14, 2025. If secondary interviews are needed, they will occur the first week of December 2025.
ABOUT KR3TS
Keep Rising to the Top (KR3T’S, located in East Harlem, provides accessible dance instruction for youth and young adults as a positive alternative to social and street pressures, allowing them the opportunity to reach their highest potential and become contributing members of our community. KR3T’S was founded in 1989 by Ms. Violeta Galagarza to offer the youth of East Harlem free professional dance training and a way to rise above the difficulties of inner-city life. KR3T’S is well-known far beyond East Harlem for developing talent and transforming the life of countless youth. To date, KR3T’S has served thousands of students through dance and performed for millions of audience members. Many of Ms. Galagarza’s students have gone on to become established choreographers and dancers, performing on tours with artists such as Rihanna, Usher and Beyoncé as well as being in films such as In The Heights. Many of these prominent former students now return to KR3T’S to train the next generation of dancers out of love for Ms. Galagarza and the East Harlem community.
