Summary
HMRC are introducing an undergraduate intern placement scheme starting in 2020. This placement will give you a true flavour of working in HMRC, and what will be in store for you should you join the organisation. You will learn “hands-on” skills that University can’t really teach. It is a fantastic learning opportunity for you.
You’ll work in a real working environment and have a role and responsibilities from day one. You’ll gain vital skills, behaviours and knowledge and have support throughout your placement from your manager and colleagues.
To be eligible for these placements you must:
• be studying towards an undergraduate degree and eligible for a ‘sandwich’ intern year or taking a gap year;
• be available to work in Nottingham or Liverpool throughout the whole period of the placement;
• be fluent in English;
Responsibilities
The role will involve examination of a wide range of digital devices in a laboratory environment, following internally developed standard operating procedures, the acquisition of forensic images and production of this primary evidence, writing statements of fact for use in criminal proceedings; identifying forensically sound solutions to emerging technological challenges and supporting senior colleagues in the team to enable case progression.
What we are looking for?
We are looking for talented individuals with a passion for computer science and have experience with computer hardware, operating systems and software. You will have an aptitude for problem solving, a keen interest in emerging technologies and an awareness of ACPO principles of Digital Evidence.
