Full-Time Policy Counsel or Policy Analyst
Job Description
New America’s Open Technology Institute (OTI) seeks a dynamic policy analyst or lawyer ready to help develop and promote innovative policy initiatives that focus on a variety of internet platform accountability, data privacy issues, and broadband access and adoption issues. These issues include developing legislation to protect consumer privacy (including centering civil rights in the privacy debate), measures to ensure that internet platforms respect privacy and free expression online, the promotion of algorithmic fairness and transparency, and efforts to reduce barriers to broadband adoption.
OTI works at the intersection of technology and policy to ensure that every community has equitable access to digital technology and its benefits. You’ll report to OTI’s Policy Director and work alongside an enthusiastic team of other lawyers, policy analysts, associates, and technologists in OTI’s Washington, DC office.
