About ReflectUS:
ReflectUS is a nonpartisan coalition working to increase the number of women in office and achieve equal representation across the racial, ideological, ethnic, and geographic spectrum.
About the Position:
The Coalition Director reports to the ReflectUS Board of Directors and works in support of a strategic plan developed collaboratively with the Board of Directors, a diverse group of organizations and individuals in positions of influence in the women’s political leadership landscape.
Responsibilities Include:
-Manage Coalition membership including recruitment and renewals, and create/support infrastructure for information sharing
-Deliver and lead Coalition public awareness campaign effort, including tracking and reporting out on goals
-Build fundraising effort and develop revenues necessary to support Coalition goals
-Articulate the Coalition’s vision to varied audiences, including policy-makers, funders, media, organizational leaders, and advocates
-Fine tune and deliver programming that elevates the sector and individual organization efforts
-Manage Coalition staff and consultants
-Facilitate regular and consistent communication among Coalition members
-Support the work of Coalition board committees
-Shepard activities related to Coalition, including convening and administrative strategies
-Collect, consolidate, and distribute reports, findings, news, and best practices from the field
-Provide technical assistance to participating coalition member organizations regarding coalition efforts
-Plan events and meetings for Coalition members, allies, and funders
-Prepare the program’s annual budget and provide financial oversight and controls throughout the year
-Demonstrate ability to work across difference
Attributes of a Successful Candidate:
We seek a Coalition Director who has 7-10 years of leadership experience within a nonprofit, startup, or private sector coalition in the field of women’s leadership and/or politics. The successful candidate will be an organized, focused, and personable leader with:
-Experience working with diverse stakeholders and moving large groups to action around public awareness campaigns and/or other goal-driven campaigns
-Demonstrated ability to deliver successful fundraising efforts from diverse sources, including foundations and major donors
-Skills and ease serving as program’s public face; ability to be credible and communicate with diverse audiences, including media; natural ease making public presentations
-Experience managing relationships with and among other organizations working at the national, state, and local levels
-Knowledge of best and emerging practices in coalition decision-making, including community engagement, project delivery systems, and performance measures
-Excellent writing skills, both in formal publications and informal means, such as blog posts and Twitter
-A “can-do” attitude, resourceful and thoughtful when solving problems
-The ability to work under pressure and meet urgent deadlines without compromising the quality of the finished product
Salary and Location:
This is a full-time position with a competitive salary, based on experience. The position is remote, though candidates are ideally based in NYC, DC, LA, or SF.
