 WHAT YOU’LL DO:

PRIMARY FUNCTION: 

The Individual Giving Manager functions as a part of the Development Department. The primary function of this manager is to support the Chief Executive Officer, Vice President of Development and Senior Director of Development in the management of all donor relations. This position plays a crucial role in driving revenue through donations, building relationships and expanding the individual giving program.

 QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations or similar field preferred, but not required.
  2. At least two years’ experience and proven success in donor communications, relationship building and donor solicitations.
  3. Must pass criminal, child abuse and neglect, and sex offender background checks.
  4. Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and other electronic platforms
  5. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills including editing
  7. Must have excellent command of the English language
  8. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  9. Able to effectively work independently, prioritize, multi-task and shift tasks
  10. Able to work in shared workspace with distractions
  11. Demonstrated ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds
  12. Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge is preferred, but not required
  13. Be able to demonstrate the mission of YWCA Kalamazoo and adhere to it

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  1. Executes and manages a comprehensive individual giving strategy that aligns with the organization’s mission and goals.
  2. Oversees all aspects of donor management, including:
    1. Coordinates, monitors, develops, and reports on moves management
    2. Manages call time for leadership to foster donor relations
    3. Leads the planning, execution and evaluation of the Annual Fund annual giving campaign
    4. Creates compelling fundraising materials that clearly communicate the organization’s mission, goals, and impact of donor contributions (with Marketing Team and Director of Development)
    5. Prospects and identifies new donors
    6. Identifies donor giving trends and incorporate donor feedback to increase retention (with Grant Compliance and Database Specialist)
    7. Manages robust in-kind giving program
    8. Manages organization wide Holiday Giving programming
  3. Supports Chief Executive Officer, Vice President of Advancement and Director of Development in securing major gifts.
  4. Represents YWCA at events and build relationships with key stakeholders.
  5. Maintains up to date records in donor database – Raiser’s Edge.
  6. Supports the processing and acknowledgement of contributions
  7. Stays up to date on industry trends and best practices.
  8. Supports the Director of Development with special projects as capacity allows.
  9. Safeguards confidential information gained as a result of this position.
  10. As a YWCA Kalamazoo employee, projects a positive image of the organization and its programs to the community.

  1. Attends all team and staff meetings, participates in collective team and agency efforts, and complies with all YWCA Kalamazoo policies and practices.
  2. Remains flexible and manages changing priorities on a continuing basis.
  3. Knows and adheres to Association policies, procedures, and practices.
  4. Performs other duties as assigned in support of YWCA Advancement Department and all fundraising activities.
