Reporting into the Customer & Category Development Manager, this role will provide support across the US Sales and CCD team. In addition to offering great analytical capability, a vital asset for this position is recognizing where additional support can enhance the sales team’s performance.

Based in Rutherford, NJ, this role will join a growing team of 19 dedicated US Sales & Category specialists delivering across multiple channels. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with an interest in data analysis, a drive for results attitude and an interest in the Consumer Package Goods industry.

Key responsibilities

  • Responsible for maintaining and updating the monthly Nielsen reports to ensure accuracy. Reports include Account Toplines, Rankings, etc
  • Nielsen Database Maintenance. Responsibilities include:
    • Monthly maintenance: reviewing new items to ensure they are accurately categorized and placed in DB
    • Liaison between marketing and sales for the annual database refresh
  • Work closely with the Category Development Team to analyze Nielsen retail sales data and performance metrics, identifying potential opportunity gaps.
    • Take on the role of the primary contact for smaller account category reviews in the future.
  • Coordinate with Cross Functional Teams to ensure timely updating and maintenance of key reports, including Priority Ranking, Sell Sheets, Price Lists and NPD Trackers
  • Manage Syndigo images for planogram software,
  • Individual will be trained to navigate and utilize external/internal portals for trade promotions and monitoring inventory levels
  • Coordinate with Marketing to audit E-comm content for key Retailers
  • Manage Broker Sample Mailing List & RSM NPD Sample process
    • Coordinate with Customer Service to ensure timely delivery of samples
  • Partner with Regional Managers to create shipper/new item survey sheets and provide support for completing new item paperwork as needed.
  • Retail Support:  Assist with Store Checks in NY Metro Area
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality when handling sensitive information and customer communications.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Seeking an individual with experience in sales support and data analysis, with a background in the CPG industry.
  • Enthusiasm for data-driven insights and analysis, eager to dedicate time to extracting and evaluating sales data and reports.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Capable of leveraging insights from Nielsen as well as IRI systems
  • Proficient in both written and verbal communication, facilitating effective engagement with clients and colleagues.
  • Comprehensive organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to balance responsibilities and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Demonstrates initiative and a strong eagerness to learn and thrive in a creative, high-energy environment.
  • Knowledge of sales and marketing principles, including understanding of retail channels and distribution networks, is an asset.
  • Skilled at adding value to team projects while also overseeing responsibilities with little oversight
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and business needs as required.
  • Availability to travel occasionally for client meetings, trade shows, and industry events.
