Full-Time Media Asset Management Specialist

The Media Asset Management (MAM) Specialist will oversee the development and daily operations of our MAM system. This role focuses on onboarding teams, preparing and ingesting media assets, and ensuring efficient system operations to support all Cascade PBS media workflow. Utilizing skills in post-production management, media asset workflow, digital media technology, metadata, and content organization, this position will ensure seamless media workflow and enable our teams to create, store, and access media content effectively..
Salary: $79,300-$90,000
Seattle, hybrid schedule available
Duration: This is a 2-year grant funded position

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
- Collaborate with departments to understand media needs and workflows.
- Provide comprehensive training to new users on MAM functionalities.
- Develop user guides and documentation to enhance system understanding.
- Prepare media assets for ingestion, ensuring proper formatting, metadata tagging, and quality checks.
- Ingest content into the MAM system, maintaining organized and searchable asset libraries.
- Establish and enforce established metadata standards.
- Monitor system performance and address technical issues with IT or vendors as needed.
- Collaborate with IT and engineering teams to implement software updates and enhancements. Ensure the MAM operates securely and efficiently to support media production workflows.
- Work with client teams to optimize content accessibility.
- Train team members on MAM systems to ensure proper usage
- Troubleshoot issues related to storage, access, and retrieval
- Evaluate system usage patterns to recommend workflow improvements.
- Assist in developing long-term strategies for MAM scalability and effectiveness.
- Maintain compliance with content rights management and copyright regulations.
- Generate reports on system usage, content trends, and operational challenges.
- Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and standard methodologies in prepress and digital asset management to continuously improve the efficiency, usability, and effectiveness of business
- Collaborate with other team members to foster a positive and productive culture and contribute toward the overall growth of the Cascade PBS.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Proficiency in MAM platforms (e.g., Dalet, Avid, or similar systems).
- Strong understanding of metadata standards, file formats, and digital workflows.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent project management skills with a focus on assessing priorities
- Familiarity with industry-specific technologies and software (e.g. Microsoft business applications).
- Strong analytical skills to assess project performance, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Familiarity with MAM systems with cloud storage solutions.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- At least 6 years in Media Production, Information Technology, or a related field .
- At least 3 years of experience with media asset management systems or similar roles in media production.
- Familiarity with broadcast or media nonprofit organizations.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to view data on a computer screen for long periods of time.
- Ability to type on a keyboard for long periods of time.
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
