Job Description

Planate Management Group (PMG) is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, and Orlando, Florida USA with technical support centers in South East Asia and East Africa, that provide program management and facilities engineering services worldwide. Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other US federal agencies, all over the world.

We are looking for an Environmental Technician to join our team in Redzikowo, Poland, to support the Installation Environmental Program Director (IEPD) under the Public Works Department. This role is responsible for ensuring the installation’s compliance with environmental standards, regulations, and management practices, including both U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) and Polish environmental laws. The position requires a proactive approach to monitoring, managing, and maintaining environmental engineering programs, conducting audits, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with the Environmental Final Governing Standards for Poland (FGS-PL) and DoD Overseas Environmental Baseline Guidance (OEBGD).
  • Oversee and update environmental management programs, ensuring adherence to installation compliance plans and environmental standards.
  • Conduct environmental inspections and audits (drinking water, wastewater, air emissions), providing insights and recommendations.
  • Maintain and submit periodic compliance reports, documenting findings and corrective actions on EMSWeb and G2 platforms.
  • Provide technical evaluations of environmental processes and recommend improvements in line with engineering standards and regulations.
  • Act as liaison between contractors, military personnel, and the IEPD to ensure compliance.
  • Support compliance across specialized areas including air emissions, drinking water, hazardous materials, waste management, and endangered species protection.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations related to asbestos, lead-based paint, and spill prevention.
  • Conduct briefings and training sessions, supporting environmental education and continuous improvement.
  • Respond to environmental emergencies, adjusting work hours as needed for off-hours requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field, or a non-environmental degree with 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental laws and regulations, including Polish environmental standards.
  • Familiarity with environmental management systems, compliance audits, and environmental program management principles.
  • Strong communication skills in both Polish and English for effective reporting, training, and coordination.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
  • Ability to pass a security background check.
  • Demonstrated capability to conduct technical evaluations and produce detailed documentation.
