A day in the life of the Marketing Specialist role:
The Marketing Specialist at Girl Scouts of Utah develops and executes strategies to drive engagement, recruitment, and brand awareness. This role creates compelling content-emails, newsletters, catalogs, and social media posts-to connect with members, donors, volunteers, and the community. Through storytelling, impactful visuals, and cohesive messaging across platforms, the specialist promotes Girl Scouts’ mission, manages campaigns, and ensures alignment with organizational goals.

The Marketing Specialist Key Accountabilities are in the following areas:
Marketing Campaigns & Strategy: Develop, implement, and analyze marketing campaigns aligned with organizational goals, ensuring cohesive messaging through collaboration with internal teams, optimizing performance with data-driven insights, and managing media campaigns and daily interactions.
Content Development & Brand Messaging: Create engaging content for social media, newsletters, blogs, and other channels to tell the brand’s story, producing visually and verbally compelling materials for diverse audiences while ensuring consistency with GSUSA Brand Guidelines.
Digital Marketing & Social Media: Manage and expand the organization’s social media presence across platforms, using SEO, SEM, and digital marketing tools to drive engagement, foster community, and support lead-nurturing campaigns for diverse audiences.
Community Engagement & Membership Recruitment: Develop and execute strategies for member engagement and recruitment through relationship-building and value-driven messaging, representing the council at events, capturing impactful stories, and participating in outreach to enhance visibility, including evenings and weekends as needed.
Data Analysis & Reporting: Leverage analytics tools to track performance, conduct market research and competitor analysis, and prepare reports with insights, metrics, and recommendations to optimize strategies and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
Collaboration & Customer Service: Manage marketing deliverables in a high-volume environment, ensuring message consistency across teams, maintaining the GSU website and Salesforce for communication and automation, creating multimedia materials for events, and supporting other duties as needed.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a marketing role, preferably within a community-focused or membership-based organization.
- Proficiency in marketing tools and platforms (Adobe Experience Manager, Illustrator, InDesign, Canva, social media).
- Experience in email marketing, familiarity with Salesforce Marketing Cloud being advantageous.
- Basic knowledge of web content management systems, with preference for experience in Adobe Experience Manager (AEM).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), with experience on the PC platform preferred.
- Proficient in social media tools and analytics.
- Technical understanding of publication production.

- Ability to identify target audiences and develop engaging campaigns.
- Capable of receiving and implementing feedback effectively.
- Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective interdepartmental relationships.
- Able to manage multiple projects concurrently in a deadline-driven environment.
- Collaborative, transparent, and inclusive work approach.
- Girl Scout experience or knowledge is a plus.
