Full-Time Team Leader
Job Description
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Team Leader to join our team in Nauru. This pivotal role will support the Government of Nauru in enhancing the sustainability, resilience, access, quality, and safety of urban services related to water supply, sanitation, and solid waste management as part of the Nauru Sustainable and Resilient Urban Development Project (SRUDP), which has a duration of approximately 2.67 years (minimum onsite assignment of 9 months per year).
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the Engineer for the contract, providing comprehensive contract management services.
- Act as the focal point for the Construction Supervision Consultant (CSC) team, closely collaborating with the Project Manager and team members to oversee site management.
- Ensure that project delivery requirements and expectations are consistently met throughout the project lifecycle.
- Oversee the invoicing process, certifying contractors’ payment certificates in a timely manner.
- Manage project schedules, ensuring that all activities are completed on time and within budget.
- Administer work contracts in accordance with the FIDIC Red Book, ensuring compliance with all contractual obligations.
- Facilitate effective communication and coordination among stakeholders, including government agencies and local communities.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and safety, addressing any issues promptly.
- Provide training and mentorship to local staff to enhance their skills in project management and contract administration.
- Perform any additional responsibilities associated with this position as necessary to support project goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience managing or supervising the design and construction of water supply and civil infrastructure projects.
- Must be amenable to onsite assignment for at least 9 months each year during the contract period.
- Experience in small island developing states is essential.
- Previous experience working with or for a utility organization in a Pacific context is highly desirable.
- Detail-oriented and analytical, with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Must be willing to relocate and work in Nauru.
