THE OPPORTUNITY

Directors on DMGroup’s Client Services team lead broad, multi-faceted consulting engagements and work closely with respected leaders in K-12 public education to achieve outstanding results on the most strategic, high-impact issues that school systems face. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced consultant who is passionate about leveraging best in class management solutions to address pressing challenges in the K-12 public education space.

Directors on our Client Services team lead client facing efforts in the following key areas:

Strategy Consulting: Craft effective consulting solutions to successfully address new and challenging problems clients face in order to make a meaningful impact on student success;
Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong client relationships by serving as a trusted advisor and thought partner, collaborating and engaging with clients at all phases of the engagement, facilitating rich dialogue around decision points, and providing regular and clear communication on project progress, results, and recommendations;
Project Management: Lead multiple client engagement teams of 2-4 consultants ensuring that client objectives, timelines, and budgets are met. Establish clear expectations and work with team to ensure the job gets done to the highest of quality and standards;
People Development: Contribute to the ongoing recruitment process including promoting internal role advancement and informing on-going professional development;
Sector Expertise: Proactively identify and stay informed on best practices in the education sector and professional services management.
METRICS FOR SUCCESS

A successful first year in this role for the new Director will include:

Demonstrating accountability and full ownership of team and engagement outcomes, including goals for client renewals and expansion of partnerships;
Building trust, credibility, and strong relationships with clients and serving as an effective client liaison;
Ensuring the portfolio of projects successfully achieve core performance objectives related to client satisfaction, budget, timeline, and impact;
Building a high quality, productive team and growing Director level leaders on that team to support DMGroup’s growth.
QUALIFICATIONS

Our ideal Director candidate will be:

An accomplished leader with a minimum of 5-10 years of professional experience in consulting or leadership roles in education. Strongly preferred: 2-3 years of experience in a leading management consulting firm or as a strategy leader in a district or charter network;
Committed to DMGroup’s mission of improving our nation’s schools;
Skilled at building deep partnerships and relationships with clients as a credible, valued, and influential thought partner and advisor;
Superior in analytical strength with the curiosity and force of intellect to tackle complex problems, conduct rigorous analyses, and present solutions in simple and concise terms;
Passionate about the quality of service, deriving genuine satisfaction from delivering a level of service far beyond what is expected or required;
An exceptionally strong communicator with outstanding written and verbal communication skills and an ability to distill complex business analysis and recommendations into succinct, persuasive executive presentations;
Expert in quantitative analysis and critical reasoning with an ability to apply a broad range of frameworks, approaches, and methodologies to solve complex business problems;
Proven in leading and motivating talented teams, managing projects, and priorities, and ensuring seamless execution;
A culturally competent and self-reflective leader who understands the effects of race, class, ethnicity, income, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, and other issues of difference in society and is able to lead direct conversations about them.
