Full-Time Construction Manager
Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Construction Manager to join our team and oversee healthcare facility projects and other commercial, institutional, and light industrial buildings in Palo Alto, CA. This role, which is a 12-month contract with the potential for extension, encompasses the full project lifecycle, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage construction projects, including ground-up construction and tenant improvements.
- Collaborate with architects and engineers to develop designs and specifications.
- Ensure compliance with local and federal regulations (TJC, OSHA, NFPA).
- Review and approve engineering plans for public authority submissions.
- Develop and monitor project schedules and budgets.
- Conduct inspections and ensure materials and workmanship meet standards.
- Resolve construction issues and maintain safety protocols.
- Maintain documentation and communicate progress to stakeholders.
- Perform quality control reviews.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 8 years in construction management, particularly in healthcare and commercial buildings.
- In-depth knowledge of construction methods and healthcare facility design.
- Proficient in software for drawings and virtual models.
- Strong understanding of relevant codes and safety standards.
- Excellent communication skills and experience in report preparation.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and solve complex problems.
- Familiarity with OSHA safety practices.
- Experience with projects valued at $10 million or more.
