Job Description

We are looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our team, where you will be involved in planning and evaluating new projects, coordinating with other disciplines, and developing innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges. This is a full-time position located in Palo Alto, California. The successful candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of healthcare industry standards, regulatory requirements, and modern construction practices.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, evaluate, and coordinate new projects, ensuring design requirements are met.
  • Develop design solutions for ground-up construction and infrastructure upgrades, preferably in healthcare.
  • Use advanced software to create drawings and virtual models for presentations.
  • Prepare and submit engineering plans, calculations, and drawings for regulatory approval.
  • Perform economic analyses and evaluate building systems to meet project requirements.
  • Develop and monitor project budgets and schedules, overseeing projects through construction.
  • Prepare plans, specifications, and estimates (PS&E) packages emphasizing safety and constructability.
  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Maintain compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform other related responsibilities as needed.

How to Apply

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of specialized experience in electrical engineering.
  • Healthcare facility design experience preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of healthcare industry standards and regulatory requirements (TJC, OSHA, NFPA).
  • Proficient in design and modeling software.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with experience in client briefings.
  • Expertise in preparing and submitting engineering plans for approval.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage project budgets and schedules.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Must lawfully reside in the United States and be eligible for employment (Planate does not sponsor visas or work permits).
