Department Overview
The Solutions department at RFA, composed of the Economic Mobility Catalog and Solutions Accelerator teams, helps government decision makers learn about and replicate solutions that have worked in communities elsewhere. The Solutions department is responsible for: 1) identifying and highlighting successful implementation efforts of evidence-based solutions by local governments across the country through research, writing, and public goods dissemination, and 2) supporting cities and counties with the implementation of evidence-based solutions through short- and long-term cohort learning opportunities. Working through partnerships and in response to local government needs, the Solutions department aims to accelerate progress on key economic mobility outcomes through the continued growth and evolution of the Economic Mobility Catalog and the suite of solutions replication support models developed by RFA.
Position Overview
The Associate, Economic Mobility Catalog will be a member of RFA’s broader Solutions department and a critical contributor to the Economic Mobility Catalog, which publishes actionable research and implementation content for local government leaders seeking to advance upward mobility.

Position Reporting Relationship
The Associate, Economic Mobility Catalog will report to RFA’s Director, Economic Mobility Catalog.
Position Responsibilities
Economic Mobility Catalog-related Research, Writing, and Project Assistance (65%)
With supervision from the Catalog team Director and project-based oversight from the Catalog team Associate Director and Manager, the Associate will conduct research on evidence-based strategies and serve as a contributor for a wide range of Catalog content, including program page entries, strategy guides, case studies, blogs, and more. Responsibilities will include:
- With oversight and using team-provided templates, lead researching and writing Catalog’s expanding library of program briefs, which provide summaries of evidence-based program models;
- Conducting regular landscape analyses on newly-published research on evidence-based programs;
- Managing queue of program briefs to be added to the Catalog and revising program briefs as new research is published;
- Conducting research and due diligence, along with interview and writing assistance, for Catalog strategy guides, case studies, blogs, and other implementation supports; and
- Coordinating with external partners to update previously published case studies, strategy guides, and other Catalog content.
Presentation, Analytics, and Communications Support (35%)
- Assisting with presentation preparation, including conducting research on audiences, designing powerpoints, preparing talking points, and helping with day-of activities;
- Assisting with reporting responsibilities related to Catalog website performance and impact measurement, designing powerpoints, graphics, and other material for internal and external audiences;
- Assisting with tracking the impact of Catalog engagements and providing support with storytelling;
- Drafting social media content for new and existing Catalog content, primarily for Twitter and LinkedIn; and
- Contribute to the Catalog teams contributions to the Salesforce platform.

This is a full-time, exempt position.
Position Requirements
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications, as well as an alignment with Results for America’s mission and organizational values:
Experience
- 3 – 6 years of work experience and college degree;
- Work experience within government (federal, state, and/or county/city) valued.
- Experience contributing to projects, administrative processes or events;
- Demonstrated experience with and knowledge of the economic mobility landscape and its various policy levers is valued; and
- Demonstrated ability to serve as a team player.
Competencies
- Excellent planning, research, writing, and qualitative analytical skills, with a demonstrated track record of distilling large amounts of information into clear, organized, and accessible language;
- Ability to understand and interpret quantitative data and synthesize findings for non-academic audiences;
- Some knowledge of statistical research methods and experience interpreting academic evaluations to a non-academic audience;
- Strong communications skills, including the ability to build trust with external partners in interview settings;
- Proficiency in project management software (Asana), Microsoft and Google Suite, PowerPoint and Zoom;
- Strong organizational skills, including capacity to contribute to simultaneous projects and successfully prioritize among multiple tasks within a fast-paced initiative;
- Strong sense of self-motivation, self-agency, and curiosity;
- Demonstrated ability to independently follow-through on tasks and projects;
- Ability to thrive in a virtual working environment;

Salary and Benefits
At Results for America, all staff members currently receive a compensation package that includes: (1) a salary aligned with RFA’s position level and salary bands and against similar nonprofit organizations; and (2) a suite of benefits that includes a choice of medical and/or vision and dental care, paid time off, a 403b retirement plan with employer match, and education and commuter benefits.
The salary band for this Associate position is $70,246 – $81,576 annually.
New hires are typically brought into the organization at a salary between the range minimum and the salary range midpoint depending on qualifications, internal equity, and the budgeted amount for the role.
