Our role is to align donor aspirations with Faculty priorities to fund impactful initiatives in research, training and infrastructure. The role:

As Director of Development, you will manage your own major gift portfolio, provide leadership to the Donor Engagement function and work in partnership with two other Directors of Development to co-lead a growing team of professional frontline fundraisers.

You will be a member of the Faculty of Medicine Development & Alumni Engagement leadership team that develops, implements, and oversees best practices across the entire team (~30 FTE) to ensure we are resourced, supported, and aligned to meet our development and alumni engagement goals.

The qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have an undergraduate degree, a minimum of eight years related experience and proven success in major gift fundraising, donor engagement best practices, strategy development and staff coaching and supervision.

We are looking for someone with effective and inclusive communication skills, along with the tact, diplomacy, discretion, and sound judgment required in building relationships with donors, corporate executives, Faculty members, peers and university administration and staff. The successful candidate will also possess strong management, leadership, and relational skills with the ability to navigate all relationships with nuance, respect, and the appropriate degree of influence. The ability to delegate and support colleagues to work collectively to achieve our overarching goals is necessary.

Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills are required, along with strategic thinking and skills in conflict resolution. The successful candidate will also possess strong conceptual abilities combined with high attention to detail and the ability to Also, an ability to work simultaneously on a variety of complex projects with deadlines is required.

Thorough knowledge of the university environment and academic structure and experience working with a centralized fundraising system would be an asset.

Compensation Range

$9,859.25 – $15,380.75 CAD Monthly

The Compensation Range is the span between the minimum and maximum base salary for a position. The midpoint of the range is approximately halfway between the minimum and the maximum and represents an employee that possesses full job knowledge, qualifications and experience for the position. In the normal course, employees will be hired, transferred or promoted between the minimum and midpoint of the salary range for a job.
