2 Casual Positions
Contract; 13 Months
Hourly Rate: $24.83/hour
Location: Onsite at various Community Recycling Centres (Rotation in effect)
Hours of Work: No guaranteed hours of work. Must be able to designate 3 days a week to work a combination of shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends. The standard shifts run from 8:15am-4:45am, 11:00am-3:00pm and 4:30pm-8:15pm.
The role:
Reporting to the Team Lead, Weighscale Operations you will be responsible for the daily operations, including the start up and shut down of the weighscale, data processing equipment, cash handling and balancing.
What you will do in this role:
- Weigh vehicle contents and direct customers to the appropriate location for disposal.
- Adhere to pertinent regional policies and regulations.
- Deal with customer inquiries and incoming telephone calls.
- Make appropriate financial transactions.
- Create, maintain, and distribute end of day reports through proper opening and closing procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
What the role requires:
- Successful completion of a secondary school diploma combined with one (1) year related experience. (an equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered)
- Strong customer service focus with point-of-sale experience. (cash handling)
- Intermediate knowledge of computer equipment required.
- Basic bookkeeping, mathematical and computer skills.
- Valid class “G” Ontario License and daily access to a vehicle.
- Police Record Check. (obtained at your own expense)

- Interpersonal skills to resolve and respond to internal and external clients.
- Proven organization skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize workload effectively.
- Strong communication skills. (both verbal and written)
- Ability to work well under pressure.
