As an alcohol key worker you will manage your own caseload of individuals accessing treatment for support to address their alcohol use. Within this role you will conduct assessments and 121 appointments which will involve offering a range of harm reduction techniques and structured key work sessions. You will work with people on your caseload to help them achieve their personal goals around reductions in use/abstinence. This will include planning and supporting structured drink-downs from alcohol, involvement of the service’s specialist alcohol non-medical prescribers for community detox and/or assisted withdrawal medications, and supporting and motiving people to complete in-patient detox and rehab. You will also consider involving other specialist teams from within our service, which may include; counselling, homelessness and rough sleeping, recovery connectors and hospital alcohol liaison, to achieve positive outcomes for people living in Chesterfield that want to address their alcohol use and improve their quality of life, health and well-being.
You will work in a all-inclusive way with people accessing our service, which will include communicating with other professionals, making referrals to other services, completing risk assessments and developing recovery-focused care plans which aim to support individuals to improve their health and well-being and achieve their personalised treatment goals.
This role will involve working 37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday 9am-5pm on a permanent contract. You will be based in our Chesterfield office (at St Mary’s Gate) which has great bus and rail links and we have a private staff car park to the rear of the building. The office is within easy commuting distance to Sheffield, Rotherham, Workshop, Mansfield and Amber Valley.
If you’re passionate about making a positive difference, particularly with people struggling to reduce their alcohol use, we’d love to have you in our team. You’ll give people support and inspiration that will help them change their lives for the better.
