Job Description

Salary:  £27,985 per annum FTE (£22,388 pro-rata)

Contract: Permanent

Base: The Brain Charity, Norton Street, Liverpool, L3 8LR

Hours: Part-Time – 30 hours per week

Responsible to: Head of People

 

Key Responsibilities

You will provide day to day administrative and office support in the daily core HR functions.

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Co-ordinate the various stages of all recruitment activity when required, involving attraction, selection, and appointment.
  • To liaise with Line Managers to produce job descriptions, person specifications and adverts.
  • To advertise all vacancies on the relevant job boards.
  • To support Line Managers with the co-ordination of the interview process.
  • Conduct right to work and pre-employment checks for successful candidates and follow up with relevant onboarding paperwork.
  • Co-ordinate a comprehensive induction and orientation programme where new staff are introduced to the companys culture, policies and their specific roles, ensuring a consistent approach across all departments.

 

HR Administration and Records Management

  • Carry out the full HR administration process during all aspects of the employee life cycle, including creating and amending HR documents such as employment offer letters and contracts and amendments to terms and conditions of employment.
  • Ensure all HR administration processes are efficient and compliant with data protection regulations.
  • Ensure All HR documents, templates and resources are properly maintained, organised and upto date.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date personnel files and HR databases.
  • Act as an HR superuser of the HRIS system (Breate) updating it will all new starters, leavers and staff changes.
  • Support the HR Manager in the administration of payroll and benefits, ensuring all employee information is accurate and submitted in a timely manner.
  • Provide HR reports as and when required.

 

Learning and Development

  • To co-ordinate and administer the statutoryt staff training calendar via a range of internal and external training activities.
  • Source and utilise various funded training initiatives available to the charity and small business sector, e.g. apprenticeship levy.
  • Support Line Managers to identify further training needs as well as any support required from annual appraisals.
  • Support the co-ordination of training and development programmes, including sourcing and contacting providers, to further enhance the skills and knowledge of employees and enable them to fulfil their potential within the organisation.
  • Support the generation and management of information and learning resources as needed.
  • Develop an ‘inhouse manager toolkit’ of training and supporting documents to maintain and improve channels for line managers to obtain information to help them in their role.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs, providing feedback and recommendations for improvements.

 

Compliance and Policy Implementation

  • Assist in the development, review, and implementation of HR policies, ensuring they are up-to-date and communicated effectively to all employees. That align with company objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations, as well as internal policies and procedures.

 

Other

  • Take responsibility for being up to date with the charity’s current policies and procedures and to adhere to these.
  • Actively support promotional and fundraising events for The Brain Charity, attending a minimum of 1 fundraising or client-focussed event over the course of a year.
  • Assist and support volunteers within the team as and when required.
  • Carry out any other reasonable tasks which may be required by the charity from time to time.
  • Regularly provide cover for all aspects of the department you belong to during any absence relating to your colleagues.
