Full-Time TeachKind Program Promotion and Acceleration Strategist –
Job Description
Position Objective:
TeachKind is PETA’s humane education division, which focuses on getting teachers to include kindness to animals in their teaching while also meeting academic goals—what we call, ‘feeding two birds with one scone!’ We are seeking someone to identify and develop new avenues to expand TeachKind’s reach to K-12 educators about animal rights.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
• Seek out and execute partnerships with education companies to get TeachKind program materials used in K-12 classrooms around the country
• Develop and see through to successful completion marketing and promotional projects to grow the reach and use of PETA’s TeachKind Program
• Design and implement novel approaches, promotional campaigns, and strategies to increase use and awareness of TeachKind resources
• Collaborate with other members of PETA’s TeachKind team on efforts to educate young people about animal rights
• Analyze efforts to ensure maximum success
• Perform research and skillfully apply findings to measurably increase program implementation and popularity in K-12 education nationwide
• Represent TeachKind and PETA in the education community and to the public
• Travel as necessary
• Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor
• Experience in curriculum development and/or educational publishing with a focus on grades K-5 preferred
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in partnerships at a K-12 education company
• Expert on education standards, current education pedagogy, and education market trends
• Proven excellent project-management, strategic-thinking, and analytical skills
• Demonstrated passion and day-to-day interest in reaching Gen Alpha and Gen Z about animal rights
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• Proven exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a variety of people
• Demonstrated ability to make sound, independent judgments and decisions
• Professional appearance and adherence to a healthy vegan lifestyle
• Willingness and ability to travel
• Ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
• Must be at least 21 years of age and have a valid U.S. driver’s license, a minimum of three years of driving experience, and a satisfactory driving record
• Support for PETA’s philosophy and the ability to professionally advocate PETA’s positions on issues
• Commitment to the objectives of the organization
The salary range for this position is $44,093.72 to $67,724.80 annually. The ultimate salary within this range that will be offered to a qualified candidate will be determined based on the candidate’s experience and the cost of living in the area in which the candidate will live and work.
