Full-Time Supply Chain Specialist

Job Description

About the role:

 

The Supply Chain Team manages the planning and purchasing of raw materials and components used to produce life sustaining medicines at Takeda’s Round Lake Manufacturing Facility. You will report to the Associate Director of Supply Chain.

 

How you will contribute:

 

  • Support the global S&OP and product allocation processes with monthly planning and pipeline updates about site production schedule and Finished Goods inventory deployment.
  • Lead the communication process for planned and actual site output to downstrem Takeda network teams.
  • Coordinate seamless finished good delivery into Global Distribution networks by working with Production, Quality, Distribution, and Logistics teams to agree on priorities and execution.
  • Lead weekly and monthly status calls with key global network teams (LOCs) to review stock coverage and demand.
  • Report fulfillment of site Pipeline commitments to domestic and global markets.
  • Work cross-functionally with members of the global supply chain network to facilitate transfer and redeployment of supply within distribution networks as neeeded to meet market demand.
  • Monitor market coverage in downstream distribution networks and provide feedback into the global master scheduling process.
  • Coordinate communication to market of product availability during “phase out/phase in” of product transitions.
  • Analyze and adjust manufacturing supply commitments to meet our needs.
  • Ensure that supply is following the sales forecasts and the inventory targets supplied by Sales & Operations (S&OP) team.
  • Primary contact for all supply inquiries by the S&OP team.
  • In the event of product supply shortages decide/offer supply trade-offs, communicate transparent market supply plans in cooperation with S&OP Team, regulatory, quality control and operations.
  • Determine supply priorities following changing market needs or operational issues.
  • Monitor execution of agreed supply plans, measure performance, offer mitigation plans and communicate any deviations from agreed plans to relevant partners.
  • Issue and update supply pipeline reports according to specific country needs.
  • Take accountability for the tracking and management of slow moving and restricted production lots.
  • Improve upon current data management and reporting processes.

 

What you bring to Takeda:

 

  • Bachelor (or Master) in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering or Business Informatics preferably with focus on Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Operations Research, Production Planning or other related fields.
  • 2-3 year experience in production or supply chain planning or related fields.
  • Experience presenting data to senior level leadership.
  • Organize and lead meetings.
  • Prior experience in a customer-focused role.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and global distribution processes.

 

Important Considerations

 

At Takeda, our patients rely on us to deliver quality products. As a result, we must follow strict rules in our manufacturing facilities to ensure we are not endangering the quality of the product. You may:

 

  • May work in a controlled environment requiring special gowning and wear protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet and body. This may include additional hearing protection for loud areas.
  • Will need to remove all make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish and artificial fingernails while in the manufacturing environment.
  • May work in a cold, hot or wet environment.
  • May work multiple shifts, including weekends, or be asked to work supplemental hours.
  • May work around chemicals such as alcohol, acids, buffers and Celite that may require respiratory protection.
