Job Description

Multnomah County is seeking a Workforce Trauma Support Program Coordinator to join our Central Human Resources Employee Wellness team. Employee Wellness supports policies, practices and programs that integrate workforce wellbeing into our organizational culture. We care about how our employees FEEL at work. 

This new position will oversee internal, centralized workforce trauma support efforts for 6,000 employees across 9 departments. It will provide trauma-informed expertise and consulting on policies and practices grounded in equity, develop and implement culturally-competent interventions, and provide training and support for managers and Human Resources staff to effectively support employees through workplace trauma and crisis. This position will work closely and partner with other departments within the County to include Human Resources, Workplace Security, Risk Management, Labor Relations, Office of Diversity and Equity, and County managers in the navigation and response efforts provided to county employees. 

An ideal candidate will:

  • Bring a passion for and expertise in trauma and crisis support on both the individual and system levels
  • Center equity in the creation of strategies, practices and protocols 
  • Bring experience with building a new program and demonstrate an aptitude for flexibility, organization, innovation, partnership and collaboration, and communication in navigating challenges and multiple stakeholders needs in this process
  • Be an expert navigator of relevant resources at the County and in the community
  • Be an engaging facilitator of trauma support trainings for diverse audiences
  • Embody a level of groundedness that is necessary to lead this work, demonstrating compassion for themselves and others, and engaging in practices that support their personal resilience

Minimum Qualifications:                      

  • Bachelor’s degree – in lieu of a degree, we will consider equivalent years of related experience
  • 3  years of experience in the field of behavioral health crisis response and/or suicide prevention grounded in equity
  • Experience facilitating trainings for supervisors, equity and HR professionals and leading employee committees/coalitions/groups
  • Experience leading culturally-informed systems-wide practice and policy development, implementation, and evaluation with multidisciplinary partners
  • Experience with direct service support to individuals and groups experiencing crises including prevention, intervention, and postvention efforts

Routine Telework: This position is designated as “routine telework,” meaning you will be working remotely (from home); a hybrid schedule also is available. All employees must reside in Oregon or Washington; the county cannot support ongoing telework from other locations. 

Pay Range: $83,763.90 – $128,373.25 Annual
