Full-Time Deputy City Clerk
Job Description
The City of Oshkosh, WI is seeking its next Deputy City Clerk. This role is crucial in supporting the administrative backbone of city operations, particularly in managing official records and processes. Duties include:
- Preparing and maintaining licenses such as Temporary Bartenders, Cafe Establishments, Secondhand Dealer, Transient Merchants, Beer Gardens and Special Class “B” Licenses;
- Preparing and maintaining bartender/operator files;
- Assembling and revising City Council Meeting Agenda, publications and follow-up from Council Meetings;
- Setting up election plans and preparing for election day;
- Performing general office tasks such as assisting customers at the counter and on the phone.
Key Skills and Knowledge Required
- Attention to detail for maintaining and preparing various licenses.
- Strong organizational skills for handling receipts, election plans, and council agendas.
- Good communication skills for customer service and coordination with other departments.
- Familiarity with municipal operations, especially in licensing, elections, and council support.
Minimum Requirements
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in clerical or administrative work.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Some college-level education in business or public administration.
- Supervisory experience.
- Municipal Clerk Certification or Municipal Clerk experience.
Full-Time Position:
- Monday-Friday
- 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Salary Range:
- $50,856 – $58,129 (depending on qualifications)
