Full-Time Data Analyst – Cycle Hire
Job Description
The Democratic Data Exchange (DDx) is looking for a Data Analyst – Cycle Hire on the Data Normalization team to help DDx’s clients understand their data needs and help identify and process the client data that powers the Exchange, DDx’s flagship product. This cycle hire position ends on December 1, 2024.
Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Customer Success, you will have the opportunity to analyze and process client data and will directly contribute to and enhance DDx’s internal data standard and quality controls.

Responsibilities:
These responsibilities are core areas of work that this role may have, but this role may also have additional duties as assigned and determined by business needs.
Coding and Data Classification
Complete the assigned qualitative coding tasks to analyze and classify client data.
Follow established norms for data cleaning and standardization with accuracy and precision.
Contribute to the data normalization team’s library and glossary as any new trends or patterns emerge.
Cross-Team Project Management
Keep an accurate and careful record of pending and completed work within projects and timelines.
Collaborate with cross-team members, such as Engineering and Product teams, to ensure client needs for data normalization are met.
Required Qualifications:
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to identify and explain issues and/or problems with data.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to be comfortable with creative problem-solving and evolving processes.
Ability to act autonomously and as an individual contributor, but also thrive within a team environment.
Strong working knowledge and context of VAN and its role in political data.
Desired Qualifications:
Experience using SQL to query for determining aggregate information and basic quality metrics; basic knowledge of at least one other popular scripting language (e.g. R, Python, etc.) a plus.
Experience with political data or equivalent experience is a plus.
Experience working with Google Workspace and Quickbase.
Additional Requirement:
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without restriction.
Location:
This is a remote position; anywhere in the US. DDx is a remote-first organization.
While this position is remote, this role may require 10% travel. Expected travel may include in-person gatherings a few times per year in one location in the United States (for staff retreats or in-depth collaborative opportunities). This would likely require travel and overnight stays in a location outside of one’s home location, though would be scheduled in advance to account for planning.

DDx offers a competitive compensation salary and benefits package, including:

The salary range for this position is $90,000 to $100,000.
Hiring Process for This Role:
While there may be shifts to the hiring process, this is the anticipated hiring process’s steps for any candidates who advance from the application stage onwards:
Phone Screening: A 30-minute audio-only initial interview with a team member.
First Round Interview: A 60-minute audio and video interview with multiple team members.
Second Round Interview/Written Prompt: A 60-minute audio and video interview with a team member OR a written prompt which may take up to 2 hours to complete.
Final Round Interview: A 30-minute audio and video interview with a senior or executive team member.
Request for References: This will be a request for 3 professional references, one of which should be a previous direct supervisor.
