The Application Systems Specialist is a highly skilled and motivated Enterprise Collaboration Engineer that will work on our Microsoft 365 Engineering Team. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining solutions that leverage the Microsoft 365 platform to support multiple agencies with over 65,000 users. This position requires a strong understanding of SharePoint Online, PowerApps, Power Automate, and other Microsoft 365 services, along with excellent enablement and communications skills to empower users and stakeholders.

Duties include, but are not limited, to:

  • Manage and configure SharePoint Online environments
  • Design and develop custom PowerApps applications to meet business needs
  • Monitor and troubleshoot existing workflows to ensure reliability and performance
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Microsoft 365-related issues
  • Develop and deliver training programs and materials to enable end-users to effectively use SharePoint, PowerApps, and Power Automate

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies

To qualify for this position, applicants must document on the application that they possess ALL of the following:

  • Demonstrated experience managing, configuring, and/or maintaining large-scale Microsoft 365 SharePoint Online environments
  • Demonstrated experience with low code development using PowerApps, Power Automate, and/or SharePoint Online
  • Demonstrated experience troubleshooting Microsoft 365 related issues, monitoring and/or troubleshooting issues with SharePoint and/or Power Platform
  • Demonstrate experience developing and/or delivering training material to enable end-users to effectively use SharePoint, PowerApps, and/or Power Automate
  • Working knowledge of content management and/or documentation management lifecycle, security and/or compliance features related to Microsoft 365

The following Management Preferences are not required, but applicants that possess these skills are preferred:

  • Experience with coding skills in SPFx, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and/or PowerShell
  • Experience with developing PowerApps development – Canvas Apps and/or Model Driven Apps
  • Knowledge of Teams and SharePoint architecture including SharePoint Hub sites, SharePoint search integration, content types, and/or migration of content
  • Experience with ITIL or ServiceNow

This position will have access to data within the Division of Criminal Information Network (DCIN); and as such, NC Administrative Code 14B NCAC 18A.0401 mandates that prior to receiving and/or maintaining certification as a DCIN user, applicants:

  1. Shall be a citizen of the United States,
  2. Shall be at least 18 years of age,
  3. Shall agree to a fingerprint-based background search.

 

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or an IT related field or related technical degree from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of progressive experience in business application consulting or development;
or
Associate degree in computer science or an IT related field or related technical degree from an appropriately accredited institution and five years of progressive experience in business application consulting or development;
or
High School or General Education Development (GED) diploma and eight years of experience in business application consulting or development; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
