Full-Time Primary Schools Manager

Job Description

Post Title: Primary Schools Manager
Location: Manchester

Purpose: This role will lead on the development and implementation of the Foundation’s Primary Schools strategic and operational aims by undertaking research, creating detailed plans, and providing a range and selection of activities aimed at Key Stage 1 & 2 teachers and pupils. In enhancing the development of both teacher and pupil the role will foster collaboration between partners and external agencies in order to facilitate measurable development and legacy from the programmes.
The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role, preferably within a charitable, school or sporting environment. They will be an effective leader with qualitative experience of managing people, partnerships and programmes demonstrating innovation, creativity and a passion for excellence.

Key Responsibilities

•Work with the CEO and the Operations Director to develop, review and a deliver a Primary Schools strategic plan complete with operational aims, which satisfy the objectives of key partners and funders. These partnerships will be relevant to the continuous development of the Primary Schools division within the Foundation.
•Provide strategic direction by researching and identifying potential programme and activity opportunities for teachers and pupils.
•Oversee the planning and delivery of Primary School services to partners and programme participants.
•To lead, manage, mentor, and support Primary School staff ensuring they continue to deliver the highest standards of care, supervision, safeguarding and service.
•Ensure that the each partner Primary and the Foundation’s code of conduct are upheld in all activities, delivery and physical appearance.
•Build strong and effective partnerships within the parent club, internally and with all external partners for the betterment of the Foundation as a whole and to support the Primary Schools division’s objectives.
•Work strategically across all Foundation departments to identify and develop qualitative programmes and workshops in line with the objectives of the department’s objectives.
•Keep up to date with Government strategy & policies on education (5-11yrs), changes to the National Curriculum and OFSTED/Department for Education SEN requirements.
•Lead and manage the Premier League Primary Stars programme.
•Proactively manage each Primary School’s Service Level Agreement development and renewal process.
•Be responsible for the Primary Schools division’s approved budgets, including Premier League funding to ensure that allocated internal funds and external funding streams are maximised against agreed programme activity and objectives.
•Create a personal development and training plan for the Primary Schools staff. Each plan will be relevant to their roles, projected activities and their day to day engagement with children and young people. The plans will contain objectives, KPIs, time lines and budgetary implications.

Essential

•A passion for working with children aged between 5 & 11.
•Emotionally intelligent
•Ability to be a role model.
•Demonstrate a minimum of five years practical experience of working with children and young people in a recognised teaching or coaching environment.
•The ability to demonstrate strong and effective Mathematics & English skills and report writing through academic achievement and/or practical tests is essential.
•Charismatic individual who brings life and energy to their delivery.
•Proven ability to engage with a range of stakeholders and external partners in order to achieve strategic and contractual objectives.
•Experience of developing staff and a team ethos.
•Ability to inspire and motivate colleagues, partners, and communities.
•Experience of scoping, delivering, and evaluating a range of education and physical activity programmes.
•Excellent organisational and communication skills (written, verbal and listening).
•Ability to think strategically in the context of, and alignment with, wider existing objectives and partnerships.
•Strong and inclusive leadership skills.
•Innovative and able to convert difficulties into successes.
•Ability to work effectively as an individual and as a team member.
•Forward planner.
•Punctual.
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office programmes.
•A full and clean UK driving licence.

Qualifications: Preferably educated to degree, HND level or A level equivalent.
Working hours: 35 hours per week.

Desirable

• Recognised coaching qualifications in able bodied and disability sports/activities.
• Experience of implementing or working with legislation relating to Primary Schools.
• Further relevant advanced study in relation to the responsibilities of the post.
• Access to own car for business use
