About the Role
We’re seeking a high level Non-profit Finance Specialist to join our team part time. The Non-Profit Finance Specialist will work directly with the President of S. E. Owens & Company to manage a portfolio of finance duties, and assist our current full-time bookkeepers.
Principal Job Duties:
- Conduct monthly reviews of client financial statements.
- Prepare financial statements for client management and board purposes.
- Assist client and/or firm management with functional expense allocations.
- Assist client and/or firm management with restricted fund accounting.
- Assist client with grant reporting.
- Prepare cash flow forecasting statements.
- Assist data entry bookkeepers with reconciliations and other tasks as needed.
- Assist client in providing information to tax preparers and/or auditors.
- Monitor client deadline calendars.
- Work with team on special projects as assigned.
Requirements:
- 5 years of non-profit finance accounting experience
- Extensive experience and expertise in using QuickBooks Online and Excel
- Proven track record of timely and professional response to client inquiries

S.E. Owens & Company operates out of the San Francisco Bay Area, and does most of its work in California, with some exceptions. Meetings are scheduled in the Pacific Time Zone. Candidates should be committed to 70% of their active work time overlapping with Pacific time zone business hours.
Compensation
This position is hourly with potential for growth into a full time, benefitted position in the near future. Our work is somewhat seasonal, along bookkeeping and tax deadlines.
