Job Title: Information & Advice Officer

 

Salary:  £27,985.00 pa

Contract: Permanent

Base: Liverpool Women’s Hospital (LWH) / Alder Hey (AH) / The Brain Charity Centre, Norton Street, Liverpool, L3 8LR

 

Hours: Full-time – 37.5 hours per week

Responsible to: Information & Advice Supervisor

The Brain Charity offers emotional support, practical help and social activities to anyone with a neurological condition and to their family, friends and carers.

There are hundreds of different neurological conditions including stroke, brain tumour, brain injury, Alzheimer’s disease and many rarer conditions.

Role summary

Our Information and Advice Officers offer high quality practical help, information and emotional support to individuals via face-to-face, e-mail and telephone support services.

The post holder will work as part of a multidisciplinary team within the Liverpool Women’s Hospital (LWH) and Alder hey (AH) to support families and their children affected by neurological conditions. By offering practical help, information and advice on areas such as welfare benefits, housing, employment and other key social care-related issues, the post holder will secure better patient outcomes for the individuals they work with.

By offering emotional support alongside high quality advocacy, the post holder will support families to cope with any complex or challenging situations they may face during their time under LWH, AH and beyond. This could include, but is in no way limited to; support with family disputes, coping with bereavement and loss, navigating medical and social care pathways and securing aids and adaptations required at home.
