Thompson Coburn, a large full-service law firm with offices in eight (8) cities across the U.S., is in search of a full-time exempt Hybrid Cloud Network Engineer to join its Chicago, Dallas, or St. Louis office. Under the guidance of the Systems Architecture Manager, this position will configure and support networking for hybrid cloud technology, manage the network firewall security platform, and provide senior enterprise level support and ownership of network infrastructure technologies in a multisite environment. This position is eligible for a fully remote work schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Installs, configures, and manages various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS, etc.).
• Ensures security and hardening around firewalls, switches, routers, and other various networking components within the enterprise environment are compliant with the Firm’s and client’s security requirements.
• Leads and facilitates operational and project work across a variety of internal IT team groups and a variety of managed service providers and consultants.
• Provides senior enterprise level support and ownership of network infrastructure technologies in a multisite environment.
• Configures and supports networking for hybrid cloud technology such as Microsoft Azure.
• Configures and supports Hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) and server networking (Nutanix AHV, Hyper-V, VMware, Netapp).
• Manages the network firewall security platform including operating systems, configuration, redundancy, planning, administration, and monitoring along with the managed vendors.

Experience and Education Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in technical field required.
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or higher required.
• 5+ years of experience with layer 2 and layer 3 network architecture required.
• 5+ years of experience in VOIP technology for conference rooms required.
• 5+ years of experience with standardized equipment including firewalls, switches and routers (FortiNet, Cisco, HP, SD-WAN) preferred.
• Experience in core enterprise applications and technologies including Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft 365, SQL, Hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI), CI, Active Directory, and network security required.
• Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytic tools required.
• 5+ years of experience working as a Network Engineer or equivalent IT field preferred.
