Full-Time Registered Dental Assistant

Job Description

Seeking a compassionate and skilled dental assistant to join our patient-focused practice!  As a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA),you’ll play a vital role in providing  accessible and quality dental care to underserved communities and creating a positive experience for our patients.

Your Impact

Support dental care delivery by preparing treatment room, handling patient needs, and sanitization of instruments and materials. Assist and perform dental procedures working closely with the dentist.

  • Assist chairside with procedures
  • Take x-rays and review patient health history
  • Educate patients by giving oral hygiene, plaque control, and post exam instructions.
  • Document dental care services by charting in patient records.
  • Prepare treatment room for patient by following prescribed procedures and protocols
  • Clinical tray set up
  • Sterilization of room, equipment and instruments
  • Fabricate temporary crowns and bridges
  • Perform procedures as allowed by Dental Board of California and as directed by Dentist.
  • Maintain inventory of dental supplies
  • Work as part of an integrated care team
  • Use common software, including medical database and scheduling software.
  • Follow all guidelines, regulations, and standards.
  • Complete other duties and related projects as assigned.

Your Qualifications

  • Ability to perform the duties described above.
  • A current Registered Dental Assistant License
  • Minimum of one year experience as a Registered Dental Assistant
  • Secondary language a plus: Bilingual English & Spanish highly desired
  • Coronal polishing certification
  • California Sealant Certification highly desirable
  • Experience with Dexis digital x-ray software
  • Experience fabricating Night guards and bleach trays
  • Experience performing Zoom teeth whitening preferred
  • Experience assisting other dental specialties.
  • Knowledge of EPIC electronic Health Records System
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software
  • Ability to communicate well with people of diverse cultural professional and experiential backgrounds and
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Working conditions

Work is conducted in a standard dental office environment. Occasional weekend work is required. Utilizes language interpretation services as needed.
Exposure to all patient elements, including communicable disease and blood borne pathogens.

Physical requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is required to sit and stand for long periods of time; see to utilize a computer screen; frequently use and reach with hands and arms for activities such as keyboarding, oral exams and other dental procedures.
