Full-Time Director of Museum
Job Description
The Director of Museum plans, directs, and administers the overall development and operation of the Museum, including finances, capital improvements, personnel matters, management of the permanent collection, exhibition development, and all related services and activities. This position also administers the City’s policies and programs pertaining to art in public spaces and the Landmarks Commission. The position actively participates in strategic planning for the City, directs the planning process for the Museum, and works closely with the Museum, Arts, and Culture Board to support the Museum’s mission.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in History, Anthropology, Education, or a related field and a Master’s Degree in Museum Studies or a related field.
- At least six years of experience working in a museum, including at least three in a leadership position.
