Duties and Responsibilities
The Instructional Support Specialist at the NWFSC Collegiate High School (CHS) is directly accountable to the Collegiate High School Assistant Principal for the following duties and responsibilities:
The individual filling this position is expected to play a positive role in helping the College change as necessary to effectively carry out its mission.
The primary responsibility of this position is the daily oversight of the student academic resources lab; specific duties include the following:
- Coordinate individualized instruction in a variety of subjects for Collegiate High School students.
- Monitor and track student progress in course and lab assignments.
- Monitor and track student progress in online instructional activities.
- One-on-one and small group tutoring
- Class coverage for emergency needs (or less than half a day)
- Disciplinary assistance
- Additional coverage for before and after school events (hall duty, bus duty, etc.)
- Assistance during school testing
- Provide support to instructional staff.
- Helping school with daily administrative needs
- Serve as a member of the Collegiate High School instructional team.
- Attends, assists, supports, plans, and helps execute events and activities outside of the school day to include, but not limited to open house, prom, showcase, senior activities, award ceremonies, convocation, high school and college graduations, and recruitment activities in the community.
- Ensures professional, timely communication with CHS faculty/staff, students, and parents.
- Develops, revises, evaluates, and implements Collegiate High School curriculum.
- Attends and actively participates in faculty meetings, mandated trainings, and professional development opportunities.
- Seeks out and participates in professional development and continuing education activities to maintain and build skills and knowledge related to use of technology and teaching best practices, to include QEP and CITL events.
- Serves as a member of the Collegiate High School Assessment and Accountability Team
- Teaches WOW Week (orientation week) and Minimester (end-of-spring term) classes as assigned.
- Serves as an advocate and positive representative in the community for the Collegiate High School mission and the students.
- Serves as a Collegiate High School club sponsor as assigned.
- Serves as Collegiate High School Capstone advisor as needed.
- Participates in and complies with all mandatory and directed safety practices, drills, and trainings.
- Completes assigned tasks, duties by due dates.
- As a part of the college’s risk management tool, completes annual mandatory compliance training.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or higher-level degree from an accredited post-secondary institution; degree in English, mathematics, natural sciences, reading, career and technical education, or education strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in oral and written communication.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of one-year teaching or other instructional experience in an educational setting
