The City and County of Denver offers a competitive salary commensurate with education and experience. The expected starting pay range for this position is $80,000-94,000/year, based on experience and education.

Location
In this role, you can expect to be on site full time at Denver International Airport – Maintenance Center at 27500 East 80th Ave. Denver CO, 80249.
This position works 4 days a week, 10 hours a day. The shift that is available is Graveyard (730pm-6am). On Call Snow/Emergency duties required (October through May).

Responsibilities include:
- Supervises non-supervisory and/or working supervisory employees involved in the operation, construction, maintenance, and/or repair of City facilities, infrastructure, snow removal, parks, or in the collection and disposal of solid waste and recommends process improvements and changes in practices and procedures to increase operating efficiency and expedite workflow
- Plans, assigns, and evaluates the work of staff members, provides technical expertise to staff, and establishes unit and staff work goals and objectives
- Implements safety standards and develops procedures to ensure compliance
- Prepares work records and reports
- Reviews, develops, and/or modifies work plans, methods, and procedures, determines work priorities, and develops work schedules to provide adequate staff coverage. Provides work instruction, assists employees with difficult and/or unusual assignments, and encourages innovation. Assigns and distributes work, reviews work for accuracy and completeness, and returns assignments with recommendations for proper completion
- Conducts hiring interviews and selects candidate(s) for job opening(s)
- Resolves problems, mediates conflicts encountered during daily operations, determines appropriate solutions, and promotes teamwork. Encourages regular communication and informs staff of relevant business issues and their impact on the organization
- Develops goals, documents performance, provides performance feedback and formally evaluates the work of the employee; provides reward and recognition for proper and efficient performance. Assists staff to achieve performance standards and identifies opportunities for continual improvement to performance standards

Required Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate.
- Experience: Three (3) years of experience in the operation of equipment characterized by tandem axles or auxiliary functions OR performing semi-skilled labor in the maintenance of public grounds and/or facilities and supplemented by experience or training in equipment operation
- Experience Equivalency: One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post high school education. Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements
- Requires a valid Driver’s license is required at time of application
- Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment
FBI Background Check: FBI criminal background check is required for all positions at Denver International Airport (DEN). Employees are also required to report any felony convictions and/or moving violations to maintain this clearance and be eligible for continued employment. By position, a pre-employment physical/drug test may be required.
Snow / Emergency Duties: Denver International Airport is a 24/7/365 team operation. If weather conditions warrant or an emergency crisis occurs, all DEN employees can be required to work extended hours and/or shifts.
