Full-Time Automotive Mechanic II – 2+ Openings!
Job Description
- Perform skilled small engine, automotive, and heavy equipment repair.
- Perform a wide range of progressively responsible tasks involving the service, inspection, repair, rebuild, and diagnosis of mechanical systems for gas, diesel, and alternative-powered engines/equipment.
- Conduct work ranging from routine inspections and service to highly complex mechanical systems analysis using advanced diagnostic instruments and software.
- Perform parts/systems failure analysis.
- Calibrate, adjust, and operate engine analyzers.
- Routinely determine materials, techniques, and tools to accomplish work assignments that vary in complexity depending on the type of mechanical system and ancillary components/equipment.
- Perform recurring and non-recurring work, such as electrical, suspension, brake system repair, and fitting/repairing more complex ancillary and specialized equipment.
- Consult with a senior technicians or supervisor.
- A complete set of mechanic tools.
- Class A Commercial Driver’s License with Tanker (N) endorsement. (If you don’t have this, still apply. You can get it through our on-the-job training within 360 days of hire).
- Experience performing preventive maintenance on 1+ of the following: light, medium, heavy-duty trucks, and heavy equipment.
- Experience diagnosing basic electrical systems and performing proper wiring repairs.
- Basic hydraulic system repair experience, including component replacement and hoses.
- Ability to repair and maintain automotive/heavy equipment and diagnose problems using diagnostic equipment,
- Ability to prepare employment and equipment repair paperwork.
- Communications skills to understand written and verbal instructions.
- Agility and strength to move parts and materials to repair and maintain equipment.
- Ability to safely operate equipment for testing purposes and work in an indoor and outdoor environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to provide safe working environment by leading by example.
- You can read and interpret Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) manuals, schematics, diagrams, and sketches.
- Strength to move relatively heavy objects and perform heavy lifting.
- Safety toe shoes.
- We will conduct a pre-employment drug screening and background check for your past 3 years about controlled substances and alcohol testing.
- We may require current certification by the EPA as a Type I, II, III, or Universal Technician.
- You will need to work in bad weather such as snow and/or ice, tornadoes, hurricanes, etc. that can lead to working extended daily hours, weekends, and holidays.
- High School/GED diploma, and
- 2+ years of relevant experience, or
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
