Are you an experienced Plumber looking to pass on your skills to the next generation? If so, we want to hear from you!

Our campuses at both Witney and Abingdon focus on the delivery of full-time study programmes for predominantly 16–18-year-olds and our highly regarded full cost evening courses for anyone to join and improve their skills. Full-time students develop the workplace skills that we know are in high demand, like punctuality, teamwork, and communication, with a goal of progressing our students into their chosen next step, be it a higher level of study at college, university, an apprenticeship at our brand new Construction Skills Centre in Bicester, or full-time employment.

You will be working in our purpose built teaching spaces be that workshops or classrooms which are professional environments and working alongside our experienced team of trainers who cover plumbing, electrical installation and testing and both Site Carpentry and Joinery and Bench Joinery. Working as part of an enthusiastic, and highly committed team you will work with students in the classroom and workshops. If you have not taught or demonstrated practical skills before, then do not worry – no teaching qualifications are necessary! We will help you to qualify if you want to – what we ask to start with is that you are enthusiastic and passionate about transferring your skills on to the next generation of industry professionals. We can teach you to teach!

If you are already an experienced lecturer, then our award-winning Teaching Skills Academy will help you to develop your teaching skills further and our Leadership Development Academy can support you into management, if that is your next step

Our new facilities and supportive friendly culture really help us to stand out as a Further Education employer – you will definitely notice the difference! For the right candidate, this post could be available on a fixed term or permanent basis, with full or part-time hours.

This role may be eligible for the ‘Taking Teaching Further (TTF)’ programme, which supports professionals as they move into teaching in the further education sector. Support from the TTF programme can include an initial reduction in teaching workload and enrolment onto teacher training.

In return, Abingdon & Witney College offer excellent benefits to our employees including generous pension and holiday schemes (with potential Christmas closure days), continued professional development, flexible working options, corporate gym membership, cycle/tech scheme and much more.
